Oleh Platow ( Ukrainian Олег Платов / Oleh Platow , Russian Олег Платов / Oleg Platow ; born April 8, 1983 (?) In Dnipropetrovsk , Ukrainian SSR , Soviet Union ) is a Ukrainian heavyweight boxer.

Professional career

The southpaw Platow started self-taught boxing in 1999 and turned professional in Belgium in 2001 when he was only 18 years old. After the first five fights, Platow met the completely unknown French Ludovic Mace in 2002, who knocked him to the ground and defeated on points. But Platow knocked him out in the rematch the next year and started an at least statistically impressive winning streak against, however, weak opponents , many of his opponents had a negative match record. In November 2006 he made a point win against Henry Akinwande for a significant leap in the rankings. Akinwande was 41 years old but had only lost two times. In 2007 he needed ten rounds to knock out the Australian Colin Wilson who had previously suffered 19 defeats (10 of which by abandonment).

On December 8, 2007, Platow boxed against Danny Williams . The fight was stopped in the fourth round and it was not rated because one of the boxers suffered a cut injury from a headbutt. A rematch was sought. Actually, Platow should fight against Cengiz Koç . However, Koç canceled and so Williams stepped in for him.

He boxes for Sauerland and saves there with Nikolai Walujew and Alexander Powetkin .
