Oleh Mykolaiowytsch Schelajew ( Ukrainian Олег Миколайович Шела́єв ; scientific transliteration Oleh Mykolajovyč Šelajev ; born November 5, 1976 in Luhansk ) is a former Ukrainian football player .

From 1993 to 1996 he played for Zorya Luhansk , then he was under contract with Shakhtar Donetsk until 2000 , but was awarded to Dnipro Dnipropetrovsk in 1998/99 and in 2000 to Metalurh Donetsk . From 2000 to 2008 he played with Dnipro on a contract. After a year-long interlude with Krywbas Krywyj Rih , he played with Metalist Kharkiv in the Ukrainian Premjer-Liha from 2009 to 2014 .

He played 36 times for the Ukrainian national team and scored one goal. He was used in all five games of his home country's selection at the 2006 World Cup .
