Olessya Kulakova (* 31 January 1977 as Olessya Skvortsova in Alma-Ata , Kazakh SSR ) is a former Kazakh and German Volleyball -Nationalspielerin.

Career

Olessya Skvortsova played as a teenager in her home country with ADK Alma-Ata and later with Rossi Moscow . She also had twenty appearances in the Kazakh national team . In 1997, the middle blocker switched to the German Bundesliga club Schweriner SC , with whom she was four times German champion and one German cup winner . In the categories “block” and “attack” she was continuously represented in the rankings of German volleyball from 1999 to 2002 . She then played in France at Racing Club Cannes, where she won the championship and the cup in 2003 and 2004. She also won the 2003 Champions League . After brief stints in Italy at Asystel Novara and Volley Padua , Olessya Kulakova played again at Schweriner SC from 2006 to 2008. At the end of her career she was again active in France with Le Cannet Volley-Ball.

Olessya Kulakova received German citizenship in 2001 and also played in the German national team until 2006 . The highlights here were winning the bronze medal at the European Championships in Turkey in 2003 and participating in the 2004 Olympic Games in Athens .
