Olexandr Shevelev

Olexandr Anatolijowytsch Scheweljow ( Ukrainian Олександр Анатолійович Шевелев ; born December 2, 1987 in Zaporizhia ) is a Ukrainian handball player .

Career

The 1.98 meter tall and 119 kilogram heavy cyclist was under contract with HK Portowyk Juschni from 2004 to 2010 and won the Ukrainian championship in 2006. He then moved to Zarya-Kaspiya Astrachan . He left the Russian club in January 2011 and signed a contract with the Spanish top club BM Ciudad Real until the end of the season. With Ciudad Real he won the Copa del Rey de Balonmano and reached the final of the EHF Champions League 2010/11 . In the summer of 2011, the Danish club Aalborg Håndbold signed him . In the 2012/13 season he played for HC Dinamo Minsk , with whom he won the Belarusian championship and the cup in 2013. Since 2013 he has been playing for HK Motor Zaporizhia in his hometown , with whom he won the championship in 2014.

Olexandr Shevelyov scored 98 goals in 45 international matches for the Ukrainian national team (as of January 2020). He also played at the 2010 European Championship .
