Olga Dmitrievna Kondina

Olga Dmitrijewna Kondina ( Russian О́льга Дми́триевна Ко́ндина ; born September 15, 1956 in Sverdlovsk ) is a Russian opera singer ( soprano ). She bears the title of People's Artist of Russia - the highest distinction there is for an artist in this country.

Life

Olga Kondina studied violin with a university degree and then singing at the Moscow Conservatory , with Irina Archipowa, among others.

Since 1985 she has been a leading soloist in the field of coloratura soprano at the Mariinsky Theater in St. Petersburg . She also appears regularly in the St. Petersburg Philharmonic as a concert singer and with chamber music programs .

She also teaches a singing class at the Nikolai Rimski-Korsakow Conservatory in St. Petersburg .

Olga Kondina has made guest appearances at the world's leading opera houses, including Metropolitan Opera New York , Covent Garden London , Teatro Colón in Buenos Aires , Arena di Verona and others.
