Olga Prager (born March 11, 1872 in Vienna , † April 26, 1930 ibid) was an Austrian painter and in 1897 the initiator of the art school for women and girls, later the Vienna Women's Academy .

The daughter from a middle-class family developed her talent for painting as a student of Adalbert Seligmann, among other things . She was particularly keen on portraits, and her large-format group portraits of the Vienna Medical Professors' College (1908) and the members of the Academy of Sciences (1912) became known. Prager was also successful in the USA around the turn of the century.

Prager's suggestion to found a public art school for women and girls arose against the background that women who wanted to train in painting, graphics or sculpture had previously been forced to take private lessons.

The suffering and impoverished artist suddenly died of a heart attack .
