Oligella is a genus of beetles from the family of dwarf beetles (Ptiliidae) within the subfamily Ptiliinae . It occurs in Europe with four types, three types are also common in Central Europe.

See the beetles of the genus which Ptilium very similar and differ from them by the poorly educated middle groove on the neck plate , the rear before the tag ( scutellum is slightly recessed grübchenförmig). The non-exposed episterns of the metathorax and the narrower separated hips ( coxes ) of the hind legs also distinguish the two genera.

Occurrence and way of life

The animals live under rotting plant matter and manure.
