Oliver Boberg

Oliver Boberg (* 1965 in Herten , Recklinghausen district ) is a visual artist and art educator . He lives and works in Fürth and teaches art at the Ehrenbürg-Gymnasium in Forchheim .

Life and education

Boberg was born in Herten in 1965 and studied art history at the University of Würzburg in 1985 and 1986 . From 1986 to 1993 he studied painting at the Academy of Fine Arts in Nuremberg . In 1989 Boberg received a French grant from the Bavarian State for a stay at the Cité des Arts in Paris . He received another scholarship in 1990 from the Lions Club in Nuremberg.

His works deal with the non-places in our direct, urban environment. His works are based on an extensive photo archive, from which he selects details, colors and structures and puts them together in his models to form a stereotypical architecture.

Awards

In 1989 Oliver Boberg received the public award of the city of Lauf . In 1997 he was awarded the Bavarian State Prize for Young Artists for Photography. Furthermore, Boberg received the advancement award of the Förderkreis Bildende Kunst in Nürnberg eV in 2003 and the advancement award of the city of Nuremberg in 2005 . In 2009 he was honored with the Fürth Culture Prize.
