Oliver Dickhäuser

Oliver Dickhäuser (* 1971 in Hemer ) is a German psychologist and university professor.

Life

He studied psychology and mathematics, German and natural sciences / technology at Bielefeld University . In 1997 he passed his diploma in psychology, in 1999 the first state examination for teaching in the subjects of German, mathematics, science / technology.

From September 1997 to December 1999 he was a research assistant at the Institute for Psychology at the University of Hildesheim . There he researched gender differences in learning and performance behavior on the computer. From 2000 to 2005 he was a research assistant or research assistant at the Justus Liebig University in Giessen . There he was in 2001 with a thesis on use of computers - evidence for an expected value model and its application to explain gender differences for Dr. phil. PhD. He completed his habilitation in 2005. Dickhäuser was temporarily delegated to the Philipps University of Marburg , where he researched and taught in the department of psychology.

From 2005 to 2008 he represented the chair for educational psychology at the University of Erlangen-Nuremberg . Since 2008 he has held the chair for educational psychology at the University of Mannheim . Since 2011 he has been the managing editor of the journal for educational psychology and was elected spokesman for the specialist group for educational psychology of the German Society for Psychology .

research

Dickhauser's research focuses on motivational and cognitive processes in schoolchildren, motivational and cognitive processes in teachers, and the importance of context factors for motivational and cognitive processes in education and teaching.
