Oliver Frischknecht

Oliver Frischknecht (born June 28, 1979 in Herisau ) is a Swiss singer, actor and musical performer.

Career

Frischknecht completed an artistic training at the Joop van den Ende Academy in Hamburg and at the London School of Musical Theater. During his training he staged his first comedic solo project entitled "Greenhouse of Evil". Engagements followed a. in “Les Misérables” at the Freilichtspiele Tecklenburg and at the Graz Opera, as “Edelkrebs Sebastian” in “The Little Mermaid”, as the monkey king “King Louie” in “The Jungle Book”, in “The 13 ½ Lives of Captain Blaubär »As well as in« Dracula », where he u. a. worked with the Broadway composer Frank Wildhorn.
In 2008 Frischknecht played the main role of "David" in "Elixir" by Tobias Künzel ("The Princes") at the Dresden Comedy . The accompanying cast recording “Elixier” was released under the MCP label. He then made his English-language debut in London as "Bad Wolf" in "You Beautiful Ewe". In the spring of 2009, he played the “conférencier” in “Cabaret” at the Leipzig Musical Comedy.

2010 saw it for the first time in Switzerland; In the Swiss musical “Ewigi Liebi” he was engaged as a walk-in cover for the three young male leading roles “Daneli”, “Hanspeter” and “Baschti”. Afterwards he was engaged for the role of the “Broadway tenor” in “Singin 'in the rain” under the direction of Josef Ernst Köpplinger at the Graz Opera.
In 2011 he played "Jamie" in the two-person musical "The Last Five Years - The Last Five Years" by the American composer Jason Robert Brown at the Lauenburg Theater and was then as "Sepp" in "Gotthelf - Das Musical" directed by Stefan Huber, to be seen at the Thuner Seespiele.
In 2012, he played the role of the young Swiss rebel “Arnold von Melchtal” in “ Tell - The Musical ” on the Walensee stage in Walenstadt and appeared again with the play “The Last Five Years”, this time at the basement stage in St. Gallen .
In 2013 he was seen in “Kiss me, Kate” at the Magdeburg Theater, where he played the role of “Hortensio”.

In the summer of 2016, Frischknecht played the roles of Kaspar, Count Holnstein / Inventor and Shadow Man in the new production of Ludwig² in Füssen.
