Oliver Liersch (* 1974 in Salzgitter ) is a German politician ( FDP ). From 2009 to 2013 he was State Secretary of the Lower Saxony Ministry of Economics, Labor and Transport .

Liersch studied law at the University of Hanover and was awarded a Dr. jur. PhD. After his legal clerkship, he worked as a lawyer in the law firm Schultze & Braun from 2001 to 2009 , and since 2002 as head of the Hanover branch of this law firm. After working as an insolvency administrator since 2001 , he became a specialist lawyer for insolvency law in 2005 .

He was also general secretary of the Lower Saxony FDP regional association .

In October 2009 Oliver Liersch was appointed State Secretary of his ministry by the new Economics Minister Jörg Bode . In this position he succeeded Stefan Kapferer , who had become State Secretary of the Federal Ministry of Health . After the state elections in 2013 there was a change of government and Liersch was replaced by the SPD politician Daniela Behrens .

Liersch was then re-admitted as a lawyer in 2013 and joined the Hanover-based law firm Brinkmann Weinkauf .
