Olivier Brandicourt

Olivier Brandicourt (born February 13, 1956 in Casablanca , Morocco ) is a French manager and was CEO of the pharmaceutical company Sanofi from April 2015 to August 2019 .

Career

Brandicourt studied medicine in Paris ( University of Paris V ) and specialized in infectious and tropical diseases. He holds a degree in Cellular and Immunological Pathophysiology and a Masters in Biology .

Brandicourt began working as a doctor at the Institute for Infectious and Tropical Diseases Pitié-Salpêtrière in Paris, where he mainly researched malaria . He practiced as a doctor in the Congo for two years .

In the pharmaceutical industry, Brandicourt started at Warner-Lambert / Parke-Davis, where he worked in the medical and marketing sectors before becoming General Manager in Canada . At Pfizer , Brandicourt led business units and was part of the global executive leadership team from 2010 to 2013.

Brandicourt was then Chairman of the Board of Management of Bayer HealthCare AG and a member of the Executive Council of Bayer AG .

On February 19, 2015, Sanofi announced that the Board of Directors had unanimously appointed Brandicourt as CEO. On April 2, 2015, he started his new role.

Offices

Brandicourt is a member of the Board of Directors of the US Pharmaceutical Research and Manufacturers of America (PhRMA) and the Council of the International Federation of Pharmaceutical Manufacturers and Associations ( IFPMA ).

He is also an honorary member of the Royal College of Physicians in London and a board member of the Children's Aid Society in New York .
