Olivier Tardy

Olivier Tardy (* in Clermont-Ferrand ) is a French classical musician . He is chief conductor of the Brandenburg Symphony Orchestra .

Career

Olivier Tardy studied in Clermont-Ferrand and at the Conservatoire national supérieur de musique et de danse de Paris . After graduating, he was a member of the Orchestra Academy of the Berlin Philharmonic . From 1996 he played as a solo flutist at the Bavarian State Opera .

Between 2005 and 2008 Olivier Tardy was the conductor of the Abaco Orchestra , the symphony orchestra of the Ludwig Maximilians University in Munich . From 2007 he was the first conductor of the ATTACCA youth orchestra at the Bavarian State Opera . Tardy also directed the Young Festival Orchestra of the Richard Strauss Days in Garmisch-Partenkirchen in 2009 . In 2011 and 2013 the Bavarian State Youth Orchestra conducted during the summer concerts and in 2013 he conducted the final concerts of the German Music Competition .

Tardy has worked with the Stuttgart Philharmonic , the Munich Radio Orchestra , the Orchester Philharmonique de Nice and the Munich Symphony . He had other engagements with the Prague Philharmonic , the Württemberg Philharmonic Reutlingen , the Presidential Symphony Orchestra in Ankara and the Orchester Lamoureux . He also directed various opera productions at the Bavarian State Opera such as the chamber opera Eight Songs for a Mad King by Maxwell Davis in the Cuvillié Theater and had projects at the Munich Chamber Opera .

Olivier Tardy has been chief conductor of the Brandenburger Symphoniker at the Brandenburger Theater since the 2020/21 concert season .
