Omar Jatta (born  January 1, 1989 in Brikama ) is a Gambian football player .

Career

In his home country Gambia, Jatta played for Hawks Banjul Football Club . He came to Germany as an asylum seeker in 2008 and was quartered in Ravensburg. The following years Jatta played in the Association League Württemberg for the FV Ravensburg . In his third season in Ravensburg he was the top scorer in the association league with 32 goals and thus several clubs became aware of Jatta's talent, including the Stuttgarter Kickers . However, this transfer had some bureaucratic obstacles, since Jatta was an asylum seeker , he was only allowed to leave the Ravensburg district with a special permit for the test matches. One day before the start of the season, Jatta was given permission to play for Kickers in the future and signed a contract until summer 2013. The reason for the long waiting time was that the football association wanted to avoid football clubs in underdeveloped countries from buying and using players Bring asylum proceedings to Germany. However, Jatta's football talent was only discovered at FV Ravensburg, so the authorities gave the green light. On July 21, 2012 he made his professional debut in the 1: 2 defeat against FC Hansa Rostock when he was substituted on in the 87th minute. In June 2013, Jatta extended its expiring contract in Stuttgart for another year. However, this was dissolved again on January 31, 2014 and Jatta moved to Bavaria for SpVgg Unterhaching . For the 2014/15 season he will move back to FV Ravensburg.
