Terrence James Elijah Ross (born February 5, 1991 in Portland , Oregon ) is an American basketball player who has been under contract with the Orlando Magic in the NBA since 2017 .

college

Ross played for the University of Washington for two years . During the 2011/12 season, he scored 16.4 points, 6.4 rebounds and 1.4 assists per game. His university made it to the quarterfinals of the National Invitation Tournament . Ross scored 25.5 points and 5.5 rebounds. For his services he was appointed to the All- Pac-12 First Team .

NBA career

In the 2012 NBA Draft , Ross was selected eighth by the Toronto Raptors . He took part in the Sprite Slam Dunk Contest in February 2013 , which he won with 58% of all fan votes. In his first year for the Raptors, Ross scored 6.4 points and 2.0 rebounds per game. On January 26, 2014, he scored a career high with 51 points in the game against the Los Angeles Clippers . This was also the highest point yield in the club's history. He shares the club record with Vince Carter , who last scored 51 points for the Raptors in 2000.

Ross scored 10.9 points per game in his sophomore year and reached the playoffs for the first time with Toronto . The next two seasons his average leveled off at just under 10 points per game, which made him an important pillar of the bench.

In February 2017, Ross was transferred to the Orlando Magic along with a first-round draft pick for Serge Ibaka .
