Aaron Addison Gordon (born September 16, 1995 in San José , California ) is an American basketball player . He has been under contract with the Orlando Magic in the NBA since 2014 .

Career

High school and college

Gordon played for Archbishop Mitty High School in San Jose. There he developed into one of the best high school basketball players in the country. He took part in the renowned McDonald's All-American Game, a game of the best youth players in the country, and was named MVP of the game. He also took part in the 2013 U-19 World Basketball Championship with the USA and won the gold medal.

After high school, he played for the University of Arizona for a year and scored 12.4 points, 8.0 rebounds and 2.0 assists that freshman season.

NBA

In the 2014 NBA draft , he was selected fourth by the Orlando Magic . After 11 games for the Magic, Gordon injured his foot and was out for 32 games. He completed 47 games in his rookie season, scoring 5.2 points and 3.6 rebounds per game.

In his sophomore year in the NBA, Gordon went up, scoring 9.2 points, 6.5 rebounds and 1.6 assists per game. He also finished second behind Zach LaVine in the Slam Dunk Contest .
