The Omikron Islands ( Spanish Grupo Omicron ) are a group of small islands and cliff rocks in the Palmer Archipelago off the west coast of Graham lands north of the Antarctic Peninsula . In the group of the Melchior Islands they are located immediately southeast of the Omega Island .
Its name is derived from the omicron , the 15th letter of the Greek alphabet . The name was given by scientists from an Argentine Antarctic expedition carried out from 1942 to 1943.
