The Christine in Wasserburg am Inn

The two Lake Constance passenger ships Forelle and Hecht from 1953 are known as omnibus boats . They were built by Deggendorfer Werft und Eisenbau GmbH on behalf of the Deutsche Bundesbahn .

history

The name is based on the one hand on the appearance of the passenger cabin, which was very similar to the design of omnibuses at the time , and on the other hand on the fact that parts of these boats were indeed obtained from bus manufacturers.

The omnibus boats were stationed in Lindau ( Forelle ) and Friedrichshafen ( Hecht ) and replaced old passenger motor boats. The boats were sold in 1964, and their routes were then covered by the birds of prey class . The pike was sold to the Greifensee and in 1982 to the Vierwaldstättersee in Lucerne . The trout was sold to the Bodman motorboat company. There it was rebuilt in 1978 and renamed Ludwigshafen . She has been called Christine since 1992and is used in passenger shipping in Wasserburg am Inn .
