On a Little Street in Singapore is a pop song written by Peter DeRose and Billy Hill and released in 1938. The song first gained popularity in the late 1930s through interpretations by Glenn Miller , Paul Whiteman, and Harry James . Well-known recordings come from Frank Sinatra , Dave Brubeck and Paul Desmond , Bert Kaempfert and Jimmy Dorsey . It's a simple love song in a minor key.

Manhattan Transfer covered the song in 1978. Writer James McCarraher wrote of her recording:
