Onchestus (mythology)

Onchestus ( Greek Ογχηστός ) was the son of Poseidon in Greek mythology or, as Boiotos' son, his grandson. According to Plutarch , he was the father of Megareus and the Abrote . Also Plataieus is named as his son. He was considered the founder ( Ktistes ) of the city of Onchestus in Boeotia .
