Onkel & Onkel is a publishing house founded by Volker Oppmann in 2007 and based in Berlin. He is one of the independent publishers that are operated independently of large corporations.

Onkel & Onkel describes itself as an "independent label for visual rock'n'roll." The program focuses on publications in the field of illustration and graphic design, including works by Erwin Wurm and Alexandra Klobouk .

In addition, literary new publications and rediscoveries from the German ( Susanne Schirdewahn , Hans-Gerd Pyka ), Scandinavian ( Tor Åge Bringsværd , Arnt Birkedal , Nikolaj Frobenius , Åshild Kanstad Johnsen ) and English-speaking areas ( Dalton Trumbo ) are published.

Onkel & Onkel is a member of the Kurt Wolff Foundation and, together with other independent publishers, published a representative joint publisher preview in 2008. In 2008 he was a selected guest at the "Spring Fair" at the Berlin Literary Colloquium . In 2008 the publisher also opened a showroom in Berlin-Kreuzberg. In 2009 the company textunes was founded as a provider of mobile publishing.
