Ono is a village in the Kingdom of Alo , which belongs to France as part of the French overseas territory of Wallis and Futuna .
location
The village extends along the more densely populated south coast of the island of Futuna in the Horn Islands group of islands . In the west it borders on Mala'e , in the east on Kolia . In the area of Ono is the Église de Notre-Dame des Martyrs , a larger church , and the Église Évangélique de Futuna. There is a Catholic mission in the west .
population
With 537 inhabitants, Ono is the largest village of Alos. Throughout Wallis and Futuna, the population has declined sharply in recent years; the population decreased from 738 people in 2003 to 667 people in 2008 and finally to 537 people in 2013. Many emigrate to New Caledonia .
