Mala'e is a village and capital of the Kingdom of Alo , which belongs to France as part of the French overseas territory Wallis and Futuna .

Mala'e is located on the south coast of the island of Futuna , which forms the Horn Islands with Alofi . Thus the village is in the more populated south of the Kingdom of Alo. There is a gas station in the village and the Chapelle de Mala'e as a church building . To the east of Mala'e there is a Catholic mission and the neighboring village of Ono . To the west is Taoa .
population
Since 2003 the population has fallen from 238 people to 224 in 2008 and 192 in 2013. The population is decreasing across Wallis and Futuna. A large part of the population emigrates to New Caledonia .
