Onosma vaudensis is a plant type from the genus of onosma ( Onosma ) in the family of the Boraginaceae (Boraginaceae).

description

Onosma vaudensis is a perennial plant that develops non-flowering rosettes of leaves and one or two flower-bearing stems . The latter reach heights of growth of 10 to 40 cm, are branched two to four times at the tip and are finely haired with 2 to 4 mm long bristles. The lower leaves are 60 to 150 mm long and 4 to 12 mm wide, narrow, inversely lanceolate and sparsely downy and hairy with 1.5 to 2 mm long bristles.

The inflorescences are not very branched. The flower stalks are 0 to 2 mm long. The bracts are the same length as the calyx . This is 12 to 15 mm long at the flowering time, enlarges on the fruit to up to 16 mm. The crown is 19 to 22 mm long, pale yellow and hairless, or just trichomes on the lobes or in lines from the lobes. Usually the crown is about 1.5 times as long as the calyx. The anthers are 6.5 to 8 mm long, with entire margins or slightly serrated at the tip.

The fruits are about 3 mm long, smooth nuts .

Occurrence

The species is endemic to western Switzerland and only occurs in the Rhone valley near Aigle .
