The Oppidum Momberg was an ancient Celtic fortification ( ring wall ) on the Momberg near Gronig in Saarland .

The Momberg is part of the Hunsrück foreland and has two mountain peaks: a northern one in the Pfaffenwald (499.4 meters) and a southern one in the Dillingerwald (490.9 meters). Together with the Losenberg, it forms the watershed between the Blies and Nahe .

Monument description

The remains of a wall fortification still visible are still 12 m wide and up to 3 m high in the base.
