Opuntia urbaniana is a species of plant in the genus Opuntia ( Opuntia ) from the cactus family(Cactaceae).

description

Opuntia urbaniana grows shrubby. The linear to elongated shoot sections are up to 20 centimeters long and up to 5.5 centimeters wide. The glochids are yellowish. The one or two sometimes flattened and twisted, initially whitish thorns are later yellowish. They are up to 2 inches long.

The yellow flowers are up to 2 inches long. Nothing is known about the fruit .

Distribution and systematics

Opuntia urbaniana is common in the Dominican Republic and Haiti .

The first description by Erich Werdermann was published in 1931.

Opuntia urbaniana is not well known.
