Order "13 Centuries Bulgaria"

The order "13 Centuries Bulgaria" ( Bulgarian Орден "13 века България" ) was an award of the People's Republic of Bulgaria , which was founded on October 16, 1981 by Decree No. 2191 by the State Council on the occasion of the return of the state (681 AD) and was awarded for outstanding services to nationals and foreigners.

Order decoration

The medal is a gold-plated, white enameled five-pointed star with a small square metal plate in the middle. This shows a lion in the center , the heraldic animal of the state , surrounded by ornaments . The metal plate is enclosed by a green enamelled laurel wreath with leaves rimmed with gold. On the end of the wreath the year 681 , the date of the founding of the state. A silver breast star with a red enamelled medallion belongs to the order . The small metal plate already described, which is also enclosed by a laurel wreath, rests on it. The year 681 can also be found here .

Carrying method

The order, which consists of only one class, is worn on a beige sash with a central stripe in the national colors from the right shoulder to the left hip. The breast star is decorated on the left side of the borrower.

The production took place in the state mint Sofia according to the designs of the well-known sculptor Professor Valentin Starchev .
