Order "Red Flag of Labor"

The order "Red Flag of Labor" ( Bulgarian Орден "Червено знаме на труда" / Order "Tscherweno Sname na truda") was founded by decree of December 13, 1950 by the Presidium of the Bulgarian National Assembly and was open to both domestic and foreign nationals who have made a name for themselves for success in the cultural, political, social or economic life of the People's Republic of Bulgaria . It was also possible to award it to collectives and institutions .

Appearance

The award is an oval gold-plated medal with a rim made from ears of wheat. It shows the hammer and sickle symbols on a blue enameled background , surrounded by a white gear wheel with the inscription ЗА СОЦИАЛИСТИЧЕСКИ ТРУД (For Socialist Work) and is surmounted by a red flag with the monogram НРБ (People's Republic of Bulgaria).

Carrying method

The award is worn on a red ribbon with a white central stripe.

Awards

The first award ceremony took place on April 6, 1951, to the Bulgarian Minister for Construction and Transport, Lieutenant General Blagoj Ivanov.
