The Ordinariate for Byzantine Believers in Poland ( Latin : Poloniae ), based in Warsaw, is responsible for episcopal leadership and jurisdiction over all Catholic Christians of the Byzantine rite in Poland , i.e. for immigrant members of the Uniate Byzantine Eastern Churches and their descendants.

history

The ordinariate for the Byzantine believers in Poland was established in 1981 by Pope John Paul II as an ordinariate for the Armenian Catholic and Greek Catholic believers in Poland . On January 16, 1991, the Ordinariate for the Armenian Catholic and Greek Catholic Believers in Poland was renamed the Ordinariate for the Byzantine Believers in Poland .
