The Orestes Valley is a small and ice-free valley in the East Antarctic Victoria Land . In the Olympus Range , it is on the north side of Mount Orestes .
The US geologist Parker E. Calkin (1933-2017) named it in 1964 based on the name of Mount Orestes . Its namesake is Orestes , a figure from Greek mythology .
