Mount Orestes is a striking mountain at a height of 1,600 m , which rises east of the Bull Pass in the Olympus Range in East Antarctic Victoria Land.
Participants in a campaign carried out from 1958 to 1959 as part of New Zealand's Victoria University's Antarctic Expeditions named him after Orestes , son of Agamemnon and Klytaimnestra from Greek mythology .
