Oreti Beach
Oreti Beach is the middle of three bays on the Foveaux Strait on the south coast of the Southland region on the South Island of New Zealand . The other two bays are Te Waewae Bay and Toetoes Bay .
The bay is 16 miles long and extends between Riverton and the Aparima River estuary in the northwest and the Oreti River estuary in the southeast.
The town of Invercargill is located on the Oreti River 5 km east of the bay. A small town of the same name is located on the coast of the bay west of Invercargill.
Oreti Beach is a stop on the Southern Scenic Route .
