Origanum calcaratum is a species of the genus Dost ( Origanum ).

features

Origanum calcaratum is a subshrub that reaches heights of 10 to 25 centimeters. The plant is woolly or glandular and more or less leafless above. The leaves are blue-green and sparsely white-haired. The lower lip of the calyx is bidentate. The crown is pink. The corolla tube is three times longer than the sagging calyx tube.

The flowering period is from April to August.

Occurrence

Origanum calcaratum occurs in the Cardagean Sea, i.e. in Greece, Crete and the Aegean Sea. In Crete, the species grows in crevices at altitudes of 450 to 500 meters.
