Ermsinghausen is a district in Geseke, North Rhine-Westphalia, in the Soest district .

Geographical location

Ermsinghausen is about six kilometers west of Geseke. The place borders in the east on Störmede , in the south on Langeneicke , in the north on Ehringhausen and in the west on the city of Lippstadt .

history

The place was first mentioned in 1182 as the property of the Abdinghof Abbey in Paderborn . On January 1, 1975, Ermsinghausen was divided into the cities of Geseke (with 1.13 km 2 ) and Lippstadt (with 1.47 km 2 , uninhabited) as part of the municipal reorganization .

politics

Ermsinghausen forms a municipality together with Langeneicke. The head of these two villages is Werner Lohn (CDU).
