Origo is a board game by Wolfgang Kramer for two to five players. It is a card-controlled board game. With the help of these cards the players move figures on the board. Here you have the choice between

  • Spread out (insert new pieces)
  • Attack (capture a field of another player)
  • Hiking (moving your own pieces on land) and
  • Sailing (moving your own game pieces that are at sea).

Whoever occupies the last field of a country establishes it and receives victory points for it. After four, eight and twelve foundings, there is still a major rating in which you get points for the largest tribes, the greatest sea power and the rule of countries. The victory points are noted on a typical victory point track for the author .

In October 2007, it was one of the four board games played at the European Board Game Championship . In May of the same year it was already a tournament game at the German board game championship .

Origo was playable on the board game world until 2008 . It is one of six games that were removed because the publisher did not renew the rights.
