The Orlík (German Urlichkuppe , also Urlich ) is a summit in the Jeseníky Mountains , located in the Bärenfang Mountains ( Medvědská hornatina ). It is located in a remote part of the Jeseníky Protected Landscape Area, 6 km south of Rejvíz ( Reihwiesen ), 8 km southeast of Jeseník ( Freiwaldau ), 8 km northwest of Vrbno pod Pradědem ( Würbenthal ). The slopes of the Urlichkuppe are mainly drained by the tributaries of the Černá Opava ( Black Oppa ). The German name probably refers to the southern Silesian name Urle for maple.

To the north the Urlichkuppe borders on the narrow Urlich, to the east on the Fochlersberg, to the southeast on the Quinfelsen, on which the remains of the Quinburk castle are located. In the south of the Urlichkuppe is the Bear Catcher ( Mědvedí vrch ), from which a ridge extends over the Johannesstein ( Janovy skály ) to the robber's stone ( Loupežník ).

Ascent

The summit is difficult to reach as there is no marked path. One possible access is from the top of the bear trap. Another way to get to the top is to reach the Tetřeví chata hut from Rejvíz through the Pod Orlíkem junction and then climb to the top without a path. From the summit there is a view of the Altvater ridge and the Freiwaldau basin ( Jesenická kotlina ).
