Orquesta Guayacan

The Orquesta Guayacán is a salsa band from Cali / Colombia and represents the musical style of the typical Colombian salsa rumbera.

Career

The band was founded by Alexis Lozano in Cali in the 1980s. Its name is based on the Guayacán tree ( Tabebuia chrysantha ), which is often found in the Valle del Cauca and symbolizes strength, beauty, blossoms and national pride. Her first album in 1986 "Llegó La Hora de la Verdad" and the title "Vas a Llorar" attracted a lot of attention at the Feria de Cali . Performances in Venezuela , Ecuador , Peru and Central America followed . Orquesta Guayacán won several prizes and awards with his 13 record releases. Her most famous hits include songs like “Un Vestido Bonito”, “Mi Muchachita”, “Como Una Hoguera”, “Té Amo, Té Extraño”, “Invierno En Primavera”, “Oiga, Mire, Vea”, “Chica De Cartel "," Cada Día Que Pasa "and" Dormida En Mi Hamaca ".
