Orsubek Nasarow ( Russian Орзубек Пулетович Назаров Orsubek Puletowitsch Nazarow ; born August 30, 1966 in Kant , Kyrgyz SSR ) is a Kyrgyz politician of the Ak Dschol and former boxer . He is the chairman of the Committee on Sport, Youth and Gender Issues of the Kyrgyz Parliament, Jogorku Kengesch .

Athletic career

1982 to 1984 Nazarow was youth champion of the Soviet Union , 1984 also European youth champion. In the adult area he won as an amateur boxers each in flyweight tournament at the Goodwill Games in 1986 , gold at the European Championships in 1987 and bronze at the 1986 World Cup , he also was from 1985 to 1988 Soviet masters.

In the final stages of the Soviet Union, Nazarow turned professional in Japan, where he won the Japanese and the Ocean lightweight championships. From 1993 to 1998 he was the WBA lightweight world champion of the pros after defeating the reigning world champion Dingaan Thobela in South Africa. He defended this title six times until 1998 before losing it to Jean-Baptiste Mendy on points in 1998 . Overall, he achieved a professional score of 26 wins with only one defeat, after which he ended his career.

Profession and Politics

In 1999, Nazarow worked for the Kyrgyz tax police, in 2000/01 he was director of the Kyrgyz state lottery, then worked in private companies until he was elected to parliament in 2007.
