history

The band was founded in 2002 in the Porto area .

Her album Em Boa Companhia Eu Vou , released in 2012, reached number 2 in the sales charts, while the single Anda Comigo Ver Os Aviões (German: Come and see the planes) rose to number 1 . The album was previously only available digitally as a free download and was titled Salão America . The band is best known for their concerts, which they play in large numbers all over the country. So her album was a sales success in 2012, despite the fact that it was still free to download on her site, as it was released on CD together with a live DVD.

Rádio Comercial and the clothing brand Fred Perry are sponsors of the band.

In 2012, Azeitonas member Miguel Araújo released a solo album. With the acoustically determined album, which is based on songwriting and pop tradition at the same time, he reached the Portuguese Top 10. However, according to his own statement, his main focus is still on his work with the Azeitonas.

style

Os Azeitonas developed a mostly lively style of music in which acoustic, undistorted instruments predominate and which has influences from different styles, from country music to Portuguese folk to classic pop / rock patterns. Lyrically, they play with popular international motifs, some with specific Portuguese themes from the entertainment music tradition there, often broken with irony.
