Oscar Adolf Adorno

Oscar Adolf Adorno (born May 6, 1872 in Düsseldorf ; † July 13, 1937 at Gut Kaltenberg near Tettnang ) was a German agricultural functionary and central politician .

Life

He was the son of the businessman Oscar Adorno and studied agriculture and economics at the Agricultural University in Hohenheim and at the University of Leipzig . He received his practical training on various agricultural goods in Germany and abroad. In 1893 he took over his parents' possession Gut Kaltenberg near Tettnang.

Adorno was a leader in the Württemberg fruit growing association as well as in the Württemberg and German hop growing associations. From 1898 to 1933 he was chairman of the Tettnang agricultural district association. In 1910 Adorno became a member of the economic committee at the Reich Ministry of the Interior. After participating in the First World War as Rittmeister of the reserve in the Uhlan regiment "King Karl", he was transferred to Stuttgart due to an injury and had been head of the Württemberg War Economics Office since 1918. From December 12, 1919, when he replaced the late Adolf Gröber , until 1928 he sat for the Center Party in the Württemberg state parliament. From 1920 to 1933 Adorno was chairman of the Württemberg Chamber of Agriculture.
