Oscar Fiedler
Oscar Fiedler , also Oskar Fiedler , ( June 3, 1848 in Bautzen - June 11, 1906 in Königswinter ) was a German theater actor , opera singer ( baritone ), opera director and theater director .
Life
Fiedler, the son of an upholsterer and saddler, first took lessons from Gustav Starcke in Dresden and then from Julius Stockhausen . He became a baritone player, but also played a lot of amateur roles.
He had his first engagement in Görlitz, then came to Magdeburg, Konigsberg, Berlin (at Belle Alliance Theater he also for the first time the Pied Piper of Carl August Goerner is), Breslau, Nuremberg, Riga and 1890 to Dusseldorf. He worked there as a singer and chief director until 1899 and during this time also ran this stage independently for two years.
In 1900 he went to Mannheim as an opera director. In 1903 he went back to Düsseldorf to work under the direction of Ludwig Zimmermann until his death.
