Oscar herring
Oscar Hering (* 1814 in Prenzlau , Mark Brandenburg ; † March 27, 1884 in Düsseldorf ) was a German landscape and garden architect , court gardener at Pawlowsk Palace and Benrath Palace and garden director of the city of Düsseldorf.
Life
From 1830 to 1834, Hering was a student at the Royal Gardening College at the Wildlife Park near Potsdam under Peter Joseph Lenné . Then he went to Russia and worked as a court gardener (garden director) in Pavlovsk in the service of Grand Duchess Elena Pavlovna . On April 1, 1864, he succeeded Peter Joseph Kürten as the royal court gardener in Benrath . On August 9, 1871, he was appointed garden inspector in Düsseldorf to succeed Joseph Clemens Weyhe . He held this position, in which he was in charge of the municipal garden administration, until 1879. His successor was Heinrich Hillebrecht . As a pensioner herring designed in the 1880s, which is located in the Barmer plants located Ringeltal at the Memorial to the Barmer manufacturer and benefactor Ludwig Ringel . He died in Düsseldorf at the age of 71.
