Oscar Herschend
Oscar Herschend (born January 6, 1853 in Herschendsgave near Skanderborg , † February 26, 1891 ibid) was a Danish painter.
Life
From 1870 Herschend studied architecture at the Academy in Copenhagen, but increasingly turned to landscape and marine painting. From 1880 he took part in exhibitions at Charlottenborg Palace in Copenhagen and mainly showed motifs from the north Jutland dune landscape. He is one of the important precursors of the Skagen School of Painting .
