Schiller Monument (Löbejün)

The Schiller Monument is a protected monument in the village of Löbejün in the Wettin-Löbejün municipality in Saxony-Anhalt . In the local register of monuments it is listed as a monument under registration number 094 55251 .

The Schiller Monument at Plötzer Tor - a stele with a Schiller relief and a relief plate with an inscription in front of it - was erected on the occasion of the 150th anniversary of Friedrich Schiller's death in 1955. The artist of the relief plate is unknown. The inscription, a quote from Schiller, was also a political statement in view of the division of Germany just six years ago. It is:
