Oscar Mügel

Oscar Mügel (born March 9, 1858 in Saarbrücken-Sankt-Johann , born Ferdinand Oscar Mügel , † May 11, 1947 in Berlin-Nikolassee ) was a Prussian ministerial official.

Life

After graduating from high school in Saarbrücken , Oscar Mügel studied law at the universities of Heidelberg, Berlin and Strasbourg. In 1876 he became a member of the Corps Suevia Heidelberg . In 1878 he became a trainee lawyer in Colmar. After passing the 2nd state examination, he became a Prussian court assessor and later a district judge in Halle and a district judge in Hanover. On June 5, 1884, he married his wife Maria Emilie Berta (1862–1946), b. Röchling. In 1890 he moved to the Prussian Ministry of Justice , where he was appointed State Secretary in 1917 and commissioner for the preparation of a judicial reform under state law . Since 1921 Mügel dealt in particular with questions of currency devaluation, the introduction of the gold mark bill and the revaluation of money claims. After his retirement in 1923, he was deputy chairman of the supervisory board of Röchlingschen Eisen- und Stahlwerke GmbH in Völklingen.
