Oscar Moret

Oscar Moret (born December 22, 1912 in Botterens , † April 18, 2003 in Bulle ) was a Swiss composer .

He studied at the Conservatory of Lausanne in the subjects composition at Aloys Fornerod , conducting with Hans Haug , Instrumentation at Naubert-Gaudin and clarinet with Jean Novi .

After completing his studies, he was the conductor of the Ensemble Choral L'Harmonie de Broc in Broc from 1942 to 1953. He then went to Freiburg im Üechtland, where he conducted the well-known brass orchestra Musique "La Landwehr" de Friborg until 1972 . Also in Freiburg im Üechtland he worked as a professor at the conservatory and in this capacity has trained numerous wind orchestra conductors and composers.

In addition to the compositions for wind orchestras, he has also made an outstanding contribution to the enrichment of literature for choirs, especially male choirs.
