Hans Haug (composer)

Hans Haug (born July 27, 1900 in Basel , † September 15, 1967 in Lausanne ) was a Swiss composer.

Life

He received piano training from Egon Petri and Ernst Levy, then studied with Ferruccio Busoni and finally at the Munich Music Academy with Walter Courvoisier . After that he worked as a pianist , conductor and later a teacher at the Conservatory of Lausanne . He composed operas and operettas , ballets , drama and film music, oratorios , symphonic works, instrumental concerts and chamber music .

In 1940 Haug wrote the music for the film " Dilemma ". The director was Edmund Heuberger . In the main roles were u. a. Fritz Schulz , Leopold Biberti Marina Rainer and Lukas Ammann . Paul Altheer wrote the Swiss-German dialogues. The film was produced by the newly founded "Gotthardfilm GmbH" and distributed by Chiel Weissmann .
