Oscar Pometti

Oscar Pometti (born September 30, 1962 in Quilmes ) is an Argentine tango singer and guitarist.

Pometti studied singing with Carmela Giuliano , Susana Naidich , Elizabeth Dolinska , Verónica Condomí , Mónica Capra , Flora Gil , Horacio Ahielo and Jorge Giavanelli , guitar with Edgardo Acuña , Hugo Fumero , Aníbal Árias and Norman Baroni and piano with Nely Pozzolo and Juanjo Monteleone .

In 1994 he released a CD with Edgardo Acuña of Argentine New Age music under the title Tantilián . In addition, he worked as an actor and has received several awards as a composer of drama music. From 1998 he turned completely to tango music. 2001–02 he recorded the CD Tangos de Amor , on which tango musicians such as Horacio Cabarcos , Fabián Bertero and Quinque Grecco , members of the Orquestra Nacional such as Andrés Spiller and Mario Tenreyro and among others Colacho Brizuela participated as a guest . The CD was nominated for a Latin Grammy and in 2002 Pometti was named Mejor Artista de Tango . Pometti received further awards in 2004–05 from the Fondo Nacional de las Artes .

In 2002 he realized the play Desde el Alma with Edgardo Acuña at the Centro Cultural León F. Rigoleau . With Carlos Ceretti he took over as musical director for the CD series La Huella del Thu . On their first CD Profecía en tango he interpreted tangos based on texts by Héctor Negro , Carlos Ceretti, Alejandro Szwarcman , Ernesto Pierro , Raimundo Rosales , Edgardo Acuña and Kaly Alvarez , on the second ( Guitar con pico y alas ) Guillermina Beccar plays folklore pieces for children .
