Edgardo Acuña

Edgardo Acuña is an Argentine Tango - guitarist and composer .

Acuña began his musical career as a member of the UB Tango group . He then worked with Orlando Trípoli and was a member of the Cuarteto del 900 and the orchestras of José Colángelo and Osvaldo Berlingieri , with whom he toured America and Europe and made numerous recordings. As a companion he appeared u. a. with the singers Roberto Goyeneche , Rubén Juárez , Roberto Rufino , Raúl Lavié , Virginia Luque , María Graña and Alberto Podestá .

He was the musical director of the El Viejo Almacén group and, in 1998, was appointed director of the Tango Venus show in Japan. He himself founded the formations Neokuarteto and Undertango . He is also a founding member of the group Fabián Bertero y los Músicos de Buenos Aires and a member of the quintet of Atilio Stampone , the orchestras of Pascual Mamone and Nicolás Ledesma and the quartet of the Fundación Astor Piazzolla . As a duo he performed with Bertero u. a. own compositions. He was awarded for Tango Azul by the Fondo Nacional de las Artes and for the Milonga de Mataderos by the Sociedad Argentina de Autors y Compositores . At the latter award ceremony, he played the world premiere of his Urbana suite with cellist Patricio Villarejo and bandoneonist Pocho Palmer .
