Nicolás Ledesma

Nicolás Ledesma (* 20th century in General Pico ) is an Argentine tango pianist and composer.

Life

At the age of eleven, Ledesma played as a representative of his teacher Erberto Benuzzi in an Orquesta Típica in his hometown. At the age of fifteen he became a piano student of Horacio Salgán , later Guillermo Iscla became his teacher. He attended the harmony classes of Juan Carlos Cirigliano and took composition lessons from Manolo Juárez .

As a pianist, Ledesma played in the orchestras of Leopoldo Federico , Pascual Mamone and Juan de Dios Filliberto , in the octet by Daniel Piazzolla and in the quintet by Fernando Suárez Paz and accompanied singers such as Roberto Goyeneche , Raúl Lavié , Maria Graña , Héctor de Rosas and Alberto Castillo , Guillermo Fernandez , Rubén Juárez , Guillermo Galve , Alberto Podesta and José Angel Trelles . In 1995 he became a member of the group Fabián Bertero y los Músicos de Buenos Aires , in 1998 a member of the Triod of Julio Oscar Pane .

After the Sexteto Sur , Ledesma founded various trio and quartet formations. In 2001 he released his first solo album Sueño de Tango with classical tangos and his own compositions. With his quartet he recorded the album De tango somos , which was nominated for a Grammy . As the conductor of the Orquesta Tangovía he took part in the Festival de Tango 2003 in Paris. On New Year's Eve 2006 he performed together with Leopoldo Federico in a concert by the orchestra of the Teatro Colón under the direction of Daniel Barenboim , where symphonic tango music was performed. He gave tango classes at the Conservatoire de Paris and the University of Montevideo and holds a professorship in tango piano playing at the Conservatorio Manuel de Falla .
